Market Domination with Web 2.0

Social media assets are a very important tool to use in search engine optimization.  The problem I see is that many abuse these platforms.  When creating web 2.0 properties to support another website you must make sure that you provide value to the platform you are publishing on, not just create bad content for the sake of dropping a few links.

Some examples of web 2.0 properties that we have created using my favorite web 2.0 platform are:
Social assets are the new search tool.  Make sure you deploy them properly and provide value to the platform that you are creating them on.
If you do not provide value to the platform you really are nothing more than a platform spammer.

What do you do when this happens?

I do very little out bound marketing for my business.  Over the last week I started reaching out to car dealers in my local market.  A dealer that is real close to my office has never returned phone call so I stopped by their store.  I was treated very unprofessionally by one of their managers when I stopped by their store.  The real sad part is I service my vehicle there and will never do that again.  (Why I will never service my vehicle at Bennett Chrysler Dodge in Kingsland again.)

I just have a hard time dealing with these interactions.  I know it has nothing to do with traffic arbitrage but it just gripes me when people in the car business are less than professional in their interactions.  I was wanting to offer them the ability to reach the local markets and beyond their market area like I have done for a Cincinnati Ford dealer and a Greenville Chevy Dealer.

I was actually going to give them a super deal on my Car Dealer Craigslist Posting service.  Guess they missed out on that and I will look for another local Dodge dealer who wishes to pull customers from Camden county..

Winning in a Down Market - Using Affiliate Techniques

Car dealers are always looking for ways to get traffic to their dealership website. We discuss many of these topics at Driving Sales. One of the things though that does not come up though is using long tail keyword marketing techniques. Because dealers have been drinking Kool Aid fed to them by automotive seo vendors for so long it may be impossible to help them make the shift.

Creating other properties away from the stores main site will help dealers find good converting keywords for them to target via long tail marketing. Some of the markets that I see being capitalized on right now are Tulsa car loans and NJ bad credit via long tail marketing.  I do not car how hard you try you just will not get an effective message across to buyers looking for these types of terms with a link to a credit application and a few bright shinny words or flashing images.

Just like when users search for used cars in Cincinnati they want to be taken to the right content not the home page of a dealerships website.  Dealer need to learn to capitalize on the long tail and none of the vendors in the main stream are going to show them the way.
